So to keep on with the pattern for this week, it’ll be another short email because this time, I gotta go to Cambodia to get my Visa renewed.
This last Monday, we got to go to our investigator’s hometown and meet his family. It was a really great stepping stone in building our relationship with him, and he came up to us afterwards and admitted that he feels much more comfortable with his baptism (the 18th of this month). I’m excited for him because in him, I can see a true desire. He really brings out the scriptural reference of being meek, humble, and teachable like a child.
Other things that went on this week included another exchange with our district leader, Elder Đông Quang, except this time for English class. We tag-teamed the spiritual thought at the end of English class and it went really well. To finish out the week, a lot of it was filled with some inspired contacting.
I’ve seen more evidence of the the divine hand of the Lord in the past few weeks than I have anytime else in my mission. When we pray for guidance and inspiration on where to go contact, more times than not, we have found a person who needed to hear what we had to share in their life. Not everybody necessarily wanted to learn, but you could tell that as you talked to certain people and shared certain things with them, that is was in accordance to God’s will and that we needed to be there at that time and talk to that person.
Likewise, certain things have happened outside of our control that could be considered as coincidence, but when thought about more deeply, can be recognized as the quiet, subtle hand of a loving Heavenly Father guiding the work here. I’ve learned a lot from Him.
I wish I had more time to talk about the things I’ve learned, but Cambodia is calling my name. Hopefully the amount of pictures makes up for it. A lot of pictures of our investigator at his hometown, there’s one of me playing with a legit Vietnam war era bazooka that his dad bought for $5 at the nearby coffee shop (yeah it makes no sense to me either), and then some pictures of appointments we had with some people. Love you all!
