Hello everybody! How is everyone doing?
Things have really been turning up over here. The work is going along great, but now it’s just a matter of whether we can keep up with it. I think the work is winning haha because I’ve been coming down with a cold for the past 4 days. But it’s been great (not the cold, but the work).
We got 3 new investigators this week, all of them through some pretty coincidental (or should I say “miraculous”) means. The first guy was someone who just showed up to church on Sunday because he happened to be walking around outside and saw the church and decided to walk in and check it out. We got a return appointment and taught him about who God and Jesus Christ are. The sincerity with which he thanked us for spending time with him and teaching him is something I’m always going to remember😂. The other 2 investigators came about unexpectedly. After district meeting on Tuesday, we got a random from phone call, and when I picked it up, some guy on the other end said that we contacted him at a park a while back. He said that he’s been learning about God and Christ with the intention of learning the Truth and he’s really confused about what he’s learned from all these different churches. So we set up an appointment with him and he happened to bring along a friend to learn as well. I honestly didn’t remember contacting him at all haha. We did so much So it was great. Unfortunately, he doesn’t live in our area, so the next time we meet him this week, we’re going to transfer him over to the right Elders.
Besides new investigators, we’ve had a really good batch of lesson with the one’s that we’ve had for a couple weeks now. 2 have baptismal dates, and they’re doing really well. One of them, you can clearly see the desire to learn and the changes that have been taking place in his life as he learned to apply prayer and scripture study in his life.
Finally, we had a baptism this week! One of my former investigators from the Thao Dien area, Em Phuong, was baptized and I had the awesome opportunity to confirm her a member of the Church in the following Sacrament meeting. It was honestly nerve-racking giving her a blessing afterwards because it was in front of the whole congregation, but the words came out.
It’s been a rewarding week, but now I gotta go home a rest before my cough gets any worse. I’ll see you all again next week. I won’t be able to email next monday because all the missionaries are meeting with an English professor to learn how to better teach English class on Monday, so I’ll be emailing Tuesday instead (that’s Monday night for all those in Arizona).
Love you all and God bless!
